PULSE is an exhibition of 17 works by 12 contemporary artists from different parts of India and artists of Indian origin. They are professionals who have already established their presence in the art scene here and abroad.
The idea of this show is to showcase the usage of visual language in the contemporary art practices. Art is not just a demonstration of mere skills, nor is an intellectual preoccupation. A work of art is a product of situation. An artist has certain responsibilities being part of the society in which he lives. It might be political, social, religious or cultural. However, he cannot shun away from those responsibilities. He is also sensitive to his roots and is always in search of his inheritance. These experiences and ethos do contribute to his vocabulary and strengthens his language which is dynamic and living.
This show is an attempt to reflect the pulse of 12 artists in their language building process.
