| Till recently, Hasta Gallery was active in Hyderabad. The gallery undertook curatorial projects working with best of the current generation artists organising group and solo exhibitions from India and abroad. We have showcased exhibitions in New York and New Delhi collaborating with the local galleries. The gallery has presented an exhibition of Contemporary American Printmaking from Zeamays Studios, Florence, Massachusetts followed by contemporary Indian printmaking. The project aims at providing a platform for innovative ideas of emerging artists.

| The gallery has now relocated to Mangalore as HASTA GALLERY PROJECTS planning various arts related programs including international artists residencies. This consists of accommodation, shared studio / workspace and work-in-progress space. The visiting artists have the opportunity to live and work in a coastal town, interact with the local art community, culture and extend their artistic practices in a stimulating environment.

An art historian and an artist, Nemiraj Shetty did his post-graduate degree in art criticism from M S University of Baroda and worked in printmaking at Lalit Kala Studios, Garhi Village, New Delhi. He has received the Senior Fellowship from the Dept of Culture, New Delhi. He has curated a number of exhibitions in India and abroad, coordinated national-level art symposiums and given lectures on art. He has taught art history in various universities in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh and has published essays and articles in various journals, magazines and newspapers.
